Krāslava for Gourmets
At 9.00 am you meet your guide in Krāslava near the town's castle. First we’ll go to the biological farm " Kurmiši ", which specializes in
herbal teas. There we’ll see how to grow herbs and produce tea from them. Of course, you will have a great opportunity to taste tea and
choose your favorite.
The tour will continue at the observation place of Adamova. There is a magnificent view of the city Krāslava, the river Daugava and forests.
Then the route leads us to the stone Austriņa. Here the Latvian writer Antons Austriņš wrote some of his works such as "Vakardiena”
(“Yesterday ") (1907 ) and " “Māras zemē” (“On the land of Mary " ) (1919 ).
The next interesting place to visit is Karnitsky’s Hill and the "source of love ", these names are connected with a tragic love story. After that
we will climb one of the highest wooden observation towers in Latvia. You will enjoy a beautiful views of the city Krāslava and the river
Daugava. After lunch in the cafe "Daugava" we will visit the castle of Count Plāter (only from the outside) and the park around. Our route
takes us further into the town bakery, where you’ll try the local bread and pastries.
Later, we take a look at the Catholic Church, which is an architectural monument and good example of Latgale’s baroque. Here, in the
period from 1757 until 1842, was the only university in Latgale. Taking a walk around the city on the former Jewish quarter, we look at the history of this part of the town.
After see the jewish quartervisit Piedruja. This village is located on the banks of the river Daugava. On the opposite bank of the river it is already Belarus. Here we’ll visit the
Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas (inspection from the outside), and the Catholic Church. Then there is a possibility to see the memorial stone "Signs of the Daugava". The sculptor
Vilnis Titan immortalized on a stone inscription "Daugava" in 7 languages.

Experience an 1.5 hours tour through the small family brewery "Kraslavas Alus". While our brewery tour you will experience the
local ingredients with all your senses: touch, smell and taste the fresh raw materials. During the brewing process honey will be
added, which gives the final product a special flavor. Of course you have to taste the delicious beers at the end of the tour.
beekeeping visit
Honey is one of the oldest and most probably one of the healthiest foods of mankind. The nature park "Daugavas Loki", with its
ecological meadows and forests produce a huge selection to create an aromatic honey. Did you know that up to 50,000 bees living
in a single hive?
Drive to the "big fools" and learn alongside the history of the village and the craft of the beekeeper know. Experience the way of
honey from the comb to the glass. Of course, we carry honeycomb skidding, discover the honeycomb and nibble fresh honey
directly from the flow out of the honey extractor. At the end you can enjoy various local delicacies.
